Promoting pod's building surveying services

pod is a multi-disciplinary construction and regeneration consultancy based in London and their broad range of services covers development consultancy, financial modelling and chartered surveying. pod commissioned Decoco to benefit from over 18 years marketing experience in the property and construction industry, and particularly within professional services.

Currently in the early days of the campaign, a new brochure & ‘introduction to pod’ marketing email has been produced by Decoco. This campaign specifically promotes pod’s chartered surveying services. Amongst their building surveying and professional services are the major technical roles, such as contract administration and employer’s agent, and general building surveying services, including stock condition surveys and heritage building surveys. pod also provide quantity surveying services and services under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

The new pod building surveying brochure provides an insight into the company, key individuals and the ethos behind pod’s tailored and personal approach. 


The email campaign continues the promotion of these areas, allowing recipients to download their new surveying brochure, discover pod’s latest projects and briefly details pod’s other areas of expertise. With an open rate of over 30% and a click through rate nearing 10%, the initial results are looking very positive and a good foundation for the continued marketing & promotion of their practice and services.

Marketing is broad with elements of traditional and digital marketing often used in the same campaign. It is due to marketing’s multifaceted remit that Decoco’s range of services is broad, covering digital projects, events, communication and content.

How it Works Video - Builders' Conference

Decoco has recently co-produced a new video animation for Builders' Conference explaining to potential new members the benefits of joining the UK's Construction Industry's Premier Data Provider.

Using the streams of Data, Projects and Networking, this 'How it Works' video breaks down what potentially could be a complicated and dry subject into a visual, easily accessible and shareable way.

With a range of benefits available to different members, such as main contractors, sub-contractors and consultants, viewers get a comprehensive understanding of Builders' Conference. The video explains how membership benefits members including forecasting market trends, finding new tender opportunities and networking events.

Brochure update for Rund Partnership

Decoco regularly works with Rund Partnership, a surveying and construction consultancy, on a variety of their business development & marketing communication activities. Recently, we were asked to update & refresh their corporate brochure.

Whilst not a complete revamp or overhaul of the design, the opportunity was taken to refresh imagery and update the written content within their previous brochure. New project images replaced the previous heavy use of stock imagery; and the editorial copy has been updated to reflect accurately the range of services provided by Rund Partnership and changes in the property and construction industry, such as amendments to legislation, best practice and guidance.  

New membership brochure for BodyWorkWest

Hidden behind leafy Westbourne Grove, BodyWorksWest is perfect if you are looking to relax and workout with room to breathe. As a boutique members’ health club in the heart of Notting Hill, BodyWorksWest needed to update their membership pack to truly reflect being the best health club in West London.

The end result is a contemporary-sized brochure, with foil blocking on the front cover and a gatefold centre spread to showcase strong imagery of their gymnasium. The inside spread explains the benefits of membership and the facilities available and allows BodyWorksWest the mechanism to provide further information and the contact details of membership executives. A bold and strong colour palette throughout ensures the key messages of BodyWorksWest are conveyed effectively, whilst not being too heavily overbearing or overly sales-orientated.

This membership pack is part of series of work Decoco’s creative team has undertaken to help the company to re-brand, via a new advertising campaign and website to broaden its current marketing channels. Other elements have included direct marketing, email marketing and printed stationery and promotional material to help BodyWorksWest improve their branding and marketing presence.

Website and marketing literature for investment bonds

Sounding like a mark from Len Goodman on Strictly Come Dancing, Decoco has recently completed 7 projects. 

Delivered simultaneously, the 7 projects included a new Website, Factsheet and Information Memorandum for 7 investment bonds.  

A consistent visual identity has been created and deployed across all of the bonds. Each website follows a standardised layout and structure content. With the Factsheets providing salient details, the comprehensive Information Memorandums provide all of the detailed information and terms & conditions you would expect associated with a financial product.

Working on 7 projects simultaneously, with a total of 21 combined aspects, certainly posed some challenges, but we reckon Len would give us 10 out of 10!

Builders' Conference - Brand Development

Builders’ Conference is the construction sector’s leading Trade Association, but their previous visual identity and website lacked punch.

Through our freelance design coordination and web management service, Decoco worked with Builders’ Conference and their preferred web developer and design agency to develop a new fresh visual identity and website.

Their bold new visual identity modernises their brand, moving away from the use of a traditional crest. A fresh direction was required to provide a distinct brand identity. In a marketplace dominated by the likes of Glenigan and Barbour ABI, Builders’ Conference now have a renewed, strong visual identity to develop their brand and marketing.

Their new website offers members and prospective members a clean, approachable and logical layout providing data, projects and networking information. With new features, such as live chat, market insight, blog and jobs board, Builders’ Conference can now expand their digital presence and offer their members even greater benefits. DYK? Magazine for calfordseaden

Guy Woodward, Director of Decoco, keenly remembers the first edition of Did You Know? - the company magazine produced by calfordseaden. As a new Marketing Management post-graduate from Cheltenham, one of Guy's first tasks at the Practice (then Calford Seaden Partnership) was to establish it!

Nearly 20 years later and the publication is still going strong, albeit (and thankfully) it has evolved. 

Now regularly working with calfordseaden on their marketing, communication and event activities, Decoco was commissioned to co-author the Summer 2016 edition of DYK? Researching and writing some articles and assisting Partners to draft others, this issue covers Building Information Modelling, zero carbon offset, construction quality, the award winning St Bedes residential development,  off site manufacturing and more.

Working on a style developed at the time of calfordseaden's rebrand (a commissioned also delivered by Decoco), calfordseaden produced in-house the final visual product for this edition of DYK? The final publication is available here.

Exhibition Stand for Axis Europe

Axis Europe have recently exhibited at the South East's leading conference & exhibition for the affordable housing sector in Brighton, East Sussex at the Brighton Centre. Decoco were commissioned from the start of the project to deliver the design & installation of their exhibition presence. 

Utilising the full 3m x 3m space through rigid PVC foamex wall graphics the stand provided Axis Europe with clear & defined promotional messaging .

Overboarding the usually very drab header boards with bespoke panels certainly made their normal shell-scheme display stand out from the crowd.

And a 180cm diameter inflatable branded exhibition sphere, floating above their stand, also helped!  

Update - Chartered Institute of Housing South East have recently issued the 2017 conference dates as Monday, 6th to Wednesday, 8th March 2017. The conference and exhibition will be again hosted at the Brighton Centre, Brighton.
