New membership brochure for BodyWorkWest

Hidden behind leafy Westbourne Grove, BodyWorksWest is perfect if you are looking to relax and workout with room to breathe. As a boutique members’ health club in the heart of Notting Hill, BodyWorksWest needed to update their membership pack to truly reflect being the best health club in West London.

The end result is a contemporary-sized brochure, with foil blocking on the front cover and a gatefold centre spread to showcase strong imagery of their gymnasium. The inside spread explains the benefits of membership and the facilities available and allows BodyWorksWest the mechanism to provide further information and the contact details of membership executives. A bold and strong colour palette throughout ensures the key messages of BodyWorksWest are conveyed effectively, whilst not being too heavily overbearing or overly sales-orientated.

This membership pack is part of series of work Decoco’s creative team has undertaken to help the company to re-brand, via a new advertising campaign and website to broaden its current marketing channels. Other elements have included direct marketing, email marketing and printed stationery and promotional material to help BodyWorksWest improve their branding and marketing presence.

Website and marketing literature for investment bonds

Sounding like a mark from Len Goodman on Strictly Come Dancing, Decoco has recently completed 7 projects.

Delivered simultaneously, the 7 projects included a new Website, Factsheet and Information Memorandum for 7 investment bonds.

A consistent visual identity has been created and deployed across all of the bonds. Each website follows a standardised layout and structure content. With the Factsheets providing salient details, the comprehensive Information Memorandums provide all of the detailed information and terms & conditions you would expect associated with a financial product.

Working on 7 projects simultaneously, with a total of 21 combined aspects, certainly posed some challenges, but we reckon Len would give us 10 out of 10!

DYK? Magazine for calfordseaden

Guy Woodward, Director of Decoco, keenly remembers the first edition of Did You Know? - the company magazine produced by calfordseaden. As a new Marketing Management post-graduate from Cheltenham, one of Guy's first tasks at the Practice (then Calford Seaden Partnership) was to establish it!

Nearly 20 years later and the publication is still going strong, albeit (and thankfully) it has evolved.

Now regularly working with calfordseaden on their marketing, communication and event activities, Decoco was commissioned to co-author the Summer edition of DYK? Researching and writing some articles and assisting Partners to draft others, this issue covers Building Information Modelling, zero carbon offset, construction quality, the award winning St Bedes residential development,  off site manufacturing and more.

Working on a style developed at the time of calfordseaden's rebrand (a commissioned also delivered by Decoco), calfordseaden produced in-house the final visual product for this edition of DYK? The final publication is available here.

New brochure for Contemporary Garden Rooms company

Collaborating with a creative design team, Decoco have recently produced a new brochure for contemporary garden building company, Harrison James. This bright and striking brochure showcases a number of their completed garden buildings through a simple and clean layout. This approach allowed the photography of their recent work to speak volumes about their service and product offering. The brochure’s written content explains their customer service ethos, details how their garden rooms are designed & built for their customers individually and provides effective calls to action.

Brochure brief written and design & production coordinated by Decoco

Working with their existing corporate identity, Decoco wrote the design brief, used existing editorial content and edited this for the brochure and coordinated the design & production stages. The new brochure, printed to a high standard on a 250gsm silk paper stock, with a matt lamination to the outer covers, will be used by Harrison James at their show site, located at Old Barn Nurseries, Dial Post, near Horsham, West Sussex, and for other promotional purposes.

New visual identity launched for calfordseaden

Recognising their corporate identity required a new approach, calfordseaden commissioned Decoco to develop, create and launch a new visual identity. This exciting and creative identity has now been formally launched.

New visual direction for calfordseaden

An original concept developed for a new identity was recognised by calfordseaden’s Senior Partners as being too limited in its direction. Working with its Creative team, Decoco developed four initial concepts for a new visual identity. Whilst all different in their approach, these concepts ensured the continued integrity of the calfordseaden name, whilst offering a modern visual approach to their branding.

This new identity now rationalises calfordseaden’s core logo to one single vehicle, whereas previously it was supported by a secondary element. Whilst their core logo has now been rationalised, a more striking impact is now delivered.

The new calfordseaden icon represents a diverse professional service business that provides its clients a range of services across a variety of construction and property sectors.

Vibrant colour palette

This new visual identity is based on a vibrant supporting colour palette, making up the ‘icon’ element of calfordseaden’s new logo.  Colour palettes are an essential part of keeping branding consistent. The primary and dominant colours of the calfordseaden logo are two shades of grey. Grey has a steadying effect on other colours within the logo, toning down the stronger and brighter colours and illuminating the softer colours.  The more vibrant colours from the icon are also used as primary colours of the brand, for example on brochure covers and other material, where the grey may be too dark. The softer tones of colour from the icon are used as the secondary colour palette.

Whilst the typography for the core calfordseaden logo is bespoke, a house style has been implemented. It is important for clarity and to complement the brand that a consistent style is used throughout printed and online material.

Through the roll out programme various elements of branding collateral have been produced, including office signage, email signatures, branded promotional items, report templates, business cards & stationery, desktop wallpapers, screensaver and personal protective equipment. A major aspect of this roll out programme has been the development and launch of a new website and Intranet for calfordseaden.

The new visual identity is more adaptable and deployable across the various uses for branding today. For example, calfordseaden’s social media platforms (LinkedIn and Twitter) now include the ‘icon’ element as their profile image and have branded headers.

Decoco have also assisted calfordseaden to develop their initial brand guidelines for their new visual identity. These guidelines lay down the foundation for ensuring brand consistency through the effective and correct use of their new visual identity. Written to inform, whilst not overly dictating, these guidelines will assist calfordseaden in the effective management and deployment of their new visual identity.

Paul Miller, Managing Partner, commented “Our core identity has remained the same since our inception, but the challenge is to always be the trusted provider of a high quality and professional service. The value of this promise is based on the strength of our brand, and adopting a new corporate identity plays an important part in the process of evolving and diversifying our business.”

The overall aim of this commission was to develop the calfordseaden brand name and its equity into a key asset and strength for calfordseaden, providing value for its Partners, staff and clients.  Paul Miller commented “The opportunity is taken to acknowledge the contributions from all those involved in developing our new identity. It has been a tremendous effort requiring a lot of hard work. The individuals involved both from Decoco Limited and internally, clearly share the vision of the Partners and have been able to translate this into an extremely important tool for the business”.

The roll out programme of calfordseaden’s new visual identity has commenced and will continue over the short term. Additionally, calfordseaden are exhibiting at the 2015 Chartered Institute of Housing South East’s Annual Conference and Exhibition in Brighton. A vibrant, new stand presence is currently being designed by Decoco’s Creative Team and will be unveiled in March 2015.

New website for London health club

Decoco has recently project managed the development and launch of a completely new website for the company BodyWorksWest, a health club situated in London, Notting Hill. This new website creates advantages for BodyWorksWest that were never open to them when they had their old website, for example, you can now visit their website on a mobile or tablet, broadening opportunities for potential clients to view the services they provide and acquiring them more publicity. Their new website also allows clients, whether new or not, the opportunity to book facilities and appointments for therapy online, again, potentially increasing their customers as people will find it easier and less time consuming then if you had to ring up etc. Not to mention, when you open their new website, the chance to sign up to their website is given to you immediately with a chance to receive their 'latest offers' etc.

Once BodyWorksWest selected Decoco to manage the new up and coming project. Decoco's Guy Woodward appointed Hove based creative agency O&G. The first stage in creating BodyWorksWest's new website was coming up with the brief for the site, the starting points for the end project. Once Decoco had briefed O&G, their graphic designers created the initial flat designs. These designs enabled BodyWorksWest to visualise their site to ensure they had no queries. Next came the building stage of the website, done by web developers. Once the new website had been built and approved by both Decoco and BodyWorksWest, the finished website was launched.

Decoco has been working with BodyWorksWest now for 18 months, prior to the launch of their new website and continue to work with them on other projects such as, advertising, direct marketing, email marketing and printed stationary and promotional material to help improve their branding and marketing presence.

Decoco develops websites with the help of their various partners, including O&G, such as WordPress, which was used for BodyWorksWest. Well produced and managed digital platforms are essential in today’s marketing arena. Please get in touch to find out how Decoco can help you with your website development.

Astor Hostels Celebrating 40 years

Decoco has recently undertaken a commission with Astor Hostels, to help them to promote their 40th year celebrations. Astor Hostels are an independent family run youth hostel group, founded in 1974. Presently they can cater for over 500 travellers a day across their four hostels located around central London – Astor Hyde Park, Astor Queensway, Astor Victoria and Astor Museum, located just around the corner from Russell Square. The hostels’ safe, fun and clean accommodation combined with their excellent staff, great locations and their unique and vibrant atmospheres have led Astor Hostels to become some of the best hostels in the world.

Celebrating 40 years – Loving London

Decoco have worked with Astor Hostels to create an identity for their 40th year celebrations,  which includes a 1920s themed party later this month in West London. This identity has been used for Facebook promotions, blog posts and email marketing campaigns. Creating a distinctive identity for these celebrations has been achieved through the use of the colour palette associated with each hostel, incorporating their ‘heart’ symbol and directly linking this identity to their core current branding.

Part of the new identity includes a promotional banner featuring all of Astor Hostels past logos right back to the 1970s. We have also created new promotional banners for use on the night of their celebrations later this month.

This commission follows other work with Astor Hostels, recently most notably translating their website’s homepage in to the most popular languages of their customers, including Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Italian. Decoco will shortly be helping Astor Hostels to make further improvements to their online presence and digital marketing. We have also produced a short brochure to promote their hostels at the WYSTC 2014 Conference in Dublin last month.

Branding and web development for Cirpro Limited

Decoco have recently been commissioned by Terry Bartholomew to assist in the branding and website development for Cirpro Limited, a newly established building surveying, project management and development professional consultancy.

Fresh corporate identity created for Cirpro

Commissioned from the beginning of the branding process, but working with a clear initial idea from the client, Decoco worked with Design Booth to create a new corporate identity for this company based in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent. Working in the commercial, industrial and residential construction & property sectors, the clean and bright branding provides Cirpro a fresh identity.

Responsive website developed for Cirpro

Decoco and Design Booth have also developed a website for this new property consultancy, developing a fully responsive site to ensure this works effectively across desktop, tablet and mobile environments. The site’s content management system allows Cirpro to post their own regular building surveying, development & project management news as well as general property & construction industry updates. The design of the site is clean, simple and uses the bold blue and yellow colour palette of Cirpro’s new corporate identity. This site is now launched at

Business cards have also been designed and produced. All elements of this commission were delivered on time and within budget.

Using a fusion of creative talent

This project highlights Decoco’s approach to using a fusion of talent within the creative industry to ensure our client’s marketing and communication objectives are met. Design Booth, the digital agency commissioned to establish Decoco’s own corporate identity and website, were best placed to work on this new commission. Decoco acted directly on behalf of Cirpro, wrote the design brief and project managed the creation of the corporate identity and development of the responsive website. Decoco have also assisted Cirpro in the written content for their website and provided branding advice regarding the development of other material, such as report templates.

Working with Decoco

Some projects, like this one, require a fusion of talent. Where necessary, we use trusted agencies or other freelancers to create the right team for of clients’ requirements. Alternatively, some clients have in-house resources that need supplementing or require the management of existing suppliers or agencies.
